About Alexander Funeral Care

My name is Tony Alexander. I qualified as a Funeral Director in 1994 and am Managing Director of Alexander’s funeral care.

Having served the local Cleethorpes/Grimsby community in funeral care for nearly 20 years, I opened my own family business, Alexander’s funeral care in February 2007.

People often wonder why I chose to do the job I do. I regard it as a rare privilege to be able to help people at the most difficult time of their lives. Some people can be a little wary of funeral directors (and understandably so). I consider myself to be friendly, approachable and able to quickly put people at ease.

It is very much a family business.

My son David Alexander works alongside me and is a qualified Funeral Director. My wife Vicky is a part time receptionist. I feel that as a family business we are able to offer a more personal service and I can honestly say that ‘nothing is too much trouble’.

In 2008 we proudly received the ‘North East Lincolnshire Enterprise Award for New Business’, which acknowledged the hard work and dedication that had made Alexander’s Funeral Care possible.

Alexander House – 70 Carr Lane, Grimsby

Our premises on Carr Lane used to be a derelict shop, over a period of 8 Months we extended and transformed the shop into a detached, large and beautiful funeral home.

The home is tastefully furnished the rooms are light, welcoming and wheelchair friendly and the kettle is always on.

Family and friends are able to visit their loved ones in our private chapel at any time day or night as often as they like (by prior appointment), without incurring any extra charge.

Our cars are silver, there is the option to substitute these for black cars if preferred. We also have a dedicated team of pallbearers and chauffeurs.

Covid-19 Notice: All the public areas in the funeral premises are fogged and disinfected between all visits as such chapel visits will have to have a 30 minute gap between them so that the area can be sterilised between visits. All vehicles will also be fogged between uses to ensure they are safe for everyone.
